Sex sells tabloids, it is exploited for marketing purposes, one could say it is what makes the world go around. However, at the same time it remains a taboo subject leaving us ill equipped to discuss it in a healthy, open and appropriate manner with our children.

The idea for this webinar came from our work with clients and witnessing the impact on their lives from anxiety around not having had access to reliable information about sex and sexuality.

Many people, including teachers, parents and health professionals find the whole area an absolute minefield . Most of the time it is left up to schools to cover this important subject, however, it is regularly at home that questions are asked, and parents also need to be equipped to answer these without increasing both their own anxiety and that of the child.

The thought of discussing sex with children causes most people to be anxious. Lack of appropriate information, not talking about sex or indeed lying about sex and sexuality related matters to children is detrimental to their mental health and development. This can manifest in the form of anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, risk taking behaviors, and addiction which can start in adolescence and continue on into adulthood.

Our guest speaker, Dr Sultana will be applying insights from her theoretical and clinical knowledge from the field of psychoanalysis, psychology and research; providing practical and useful guidelines to better prepare you for addressing this important subject with your child.

For ticket buyers who are unable to attend, a link will be provided for them to access a recorded version of the webinar for one month on our website
