Beauty Sleep

So why is it called beauty sleep?

Every year billions of euro are spent on the beauty industry, the quest for the elixir of life that will reduce the signs of aging and make one look younger than their years.

It is not for nothing it is called beauty sleep, when you sleep, your body repairs and rejuvenates itself.  There are a few ways this happens.  We’ve all seen the adds for supplemental collagen. When we sleep the body produces collagen which is, a protein that keeps your skin firm and elastic. When you don’t get enough sleep, your body produces more cortisol, a hormone that can break down collagen and cause wrinkles.

Sleep can also reduce inflammation in your body, which can help to reduce puffiness and dark circles under your eyes.  getting enough sleep also helps to regulate hormones, which can lead to a clearer complexion and fewer breakouts

Also, when you’re well-rested, you’re likely to have more energy and a brighter, more alert appearance.  Getting enough sleep is important for your physical and mental health, and can also have positive effects on your appearance, people who look happier and more rested and full of energy can be perceived as younger and more beautiful

Sleep can play a significant role in maintaining a youthful appearance and delaying the signs of aging

During deep sleep, your body also produces growth hormone, which stimulates cell regeneration and repair. This in addition to collagen, can help to maintain the elasticity and firmness of your skin, as well as strengthen your bones and muscles

Lack of sleep can cause stress and inflammation in the body, which can accelerate the aging process. Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to a range of health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, and cognitive decline, which can also contribute to aging

Getting enough high-quality sleep on a regular basis is important for overall health and well-being, and can help to maintain a youthful appearance both inside and out.
